Best Jobs Report since 2012

In January, Brazil created ~77 thousand formal job posts, according to official figures released today; the best performance for the month of January since 2012, and the first time since 2014 new hirings is outpacing dismissals. 

From February 2017 to January 2018, ~83 thousand formal job posts were created but data for the whole year of 2017, indicated that the country closed out the year with a total of 20.8 thousand positions terminated. The average salary of dismissed workers in January stood at USD 501.75 (corrected for inflation). The average salary of those who were hired, however, was lower—USD 470.81.

The manufacturing sector led job generation with 49.5 thousand new posts, followed by services, with 46.5 thousand.
